    Very interesting.

    I take a considerably, contrarian stand regarding "Networking". Certainly, a part of a job search; however, a very small part (5%, if that). And, “networking is really a big one of my "5 Job Search Time Wasters." (go to my website:

    Even you sound frustrated with networking in this podcast; but, don't know what else to trust or do.

    I been to networking events and job clubs and self-help groups. Everyone shows up with there freshly printed resumes and high expectation of making that just the right connection(s) through other unemployed people with exactly the same expectations. Again, it just doesn't happen. But, next week their at another networking event with the same hope.

    Networking to me is the most over promoted search strategy. It’s as bad as “informational” interviewing in the 70’s and 80’s.
